SNV in Ethiopia

SNV began its work in Ethiopia in the 1970s, responding to a call for assistance in addressing the famine situation in the country. Currently, SNV Ethiopia operates in three of the country’s nine regional states, namely the Southern Nations, Nationalities and Peoples’ Regional State (SNNPRS), the Central Rift Valley (Oromia) and Amhara. These areas cover a variety of climatic and geographical conditions, including highlands with cold and moderate temperatures, lowlands with both tropical and arid conditions, and rugged steep mountains in the northern part.
