Antonio Mirasse, Advisor Basic Services, Water, Sanitation & Hygiene
Antonio holds Masters Degrees in Business Administration, and in Environmental Sciences as Sanitary Engineer, as well as a Bachelor of Science Degree in Water Resources Management. Antonio has more than fifteen years of professional experience in Government institutions (Ministry of Public Works and Housing, and Provincial Directorate of Public Works and Housing in Zambézia) working in projects funded by different international agencies such as the World Bank, African Development Bank, KFW, DANIDA, SDC, EU, and Dutch Govt., in implementing water and sanitation infrastructural development and institutional reform projects of rural and urban communities. He has held management positions at both national and provincial levels while working for the Government. He has undertaken consulting tasks for private firms.
Antonio joined SNV in 2008. His focus is on strengthening of capacities of local NGOs involved in the formation and training of community’s water committees, sensitization of the communities for hygiene awareness, and sustainability of water and sanitation facilities, in partnership with other actors. With these activities he contributes in the effort to increase the number of people with improved living conditions with access to potable water and better sanitation and hygiene practices.
Edmundo Almeida, Advisor, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene
Edmundo holds a degree in Administration and Management for Enterprises. He has fourteen years experience in the water sector, mainly acting as a facilitator and trainer at the Centro de Formação Profissional de Água e Saneamento in Mozambique (CFPAS) focusing on community-led methodologies. He was in charge of rural water supply section of the Department for Rural Water for at the National Directorate of Water for twelve years and where he focused in the monitoring of technologies for deep wells water sources.
Edmundo joined SNV in October 2008 and since then he has been involved in water, sanitation and hygiene activities with the Provincial Directorate of Housing and Public Works of Sofala, Manica and Tete provinces, co-facilitating the Multi Partnership Stakeholders meetings and technical trainings in new approaches.
Gilda Monjane Uaciquete, Advisor, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene
Gilda holds a Diploma in Biological Sciences from Eduardo Mondlane University in Mozambique.
She started her working carrier in Directorate of Environmental affairs as Environmental Impact Evaluator and Management in Nampula Province. Gilda joined SNV in 2007. Her current focus is on water availability and the promotion of sanitation and Hygiene in Nampula Province. She strengthens the technical capacity of infrastructure and education district technicians in community and school sanitation approaches as SNV’s clients, as well as improving the communities life (Welfare) trough sanitation activities.
She is looking forward to further developing capacities for the schools and develop knowledge through the ZIP’s (education clusters), designing training material about sanitation and hygiene.
