Organisation

SNV has been active in Burkina Faso since 1970. Today, our national office is based in Ouagadougou and a second office in Bobo-Dioulasso. Our advisors are spread over two teams, working in 8 regions of Burkina Faso. They support, advice and coach local actors to strenghten their capacities and pursue their own sustainable development. We operate in line with the local government (Millennium Development Goals - OMD as well as the Strategic Framework for the Fight against Poverty - SCLP) and collaborate with partners to effectively impact our work. Our actions already received support from EU delegation to Burkina Faso, UNICEF Burkina Faso, WISIONS, USAID/ACDI VOCA, EKN to Burkina Faso,  UNDP, ICCO, ILRI, etc.

SNV Burkina Faso supports more than 100 local organisations per year, in close partnership with local and international organisations such as Labo-Citoyennetés (former ACE-RECIT),  the Pan African Inter-governmental Agency, Water and Sanitation for Africa (former CREPA), Municipalities Associations of Burkina Faso, UICN, KIT, GRAF, GIZ (GTZ).

Our organization is a strategic partner for pivotal Ministries such as Ministry of local administration and decentralisation (MATD), Ministry of Economy and Development, Ministry of Agriculture and Hydraulics, Ministry of Environment and sustainable Development, Ministry of Woman promotion.

Our personnel consists in 33 employees (29 are nationals), including 21 advisors, experts in: Agriculture, Renewable Energy and Water, Hygiene & Sanitation.
