In Niger, SNV has
• An experienced and dynamic workforce of 27 employees (90% local) with a staffing structure designed to ensure optimal technical and management leadership by African professionals.
• A long term presence on the ground: SNV started to work Niger in 1978. This local presence and recognition provide a solid basis to address gender-related issues responding to shifting political and social environments, with strategic relationships with Government ministries, and the private sector – including financial institutions, agro-businesses, and multi-national companies
SNV Niger excels in a “mainstreaming approach,” gender-related training to potential women leader, piloting gender budgeting processes, and woman/child rights-based approach to the preparation of development plans. SNV is perceived as a key collaborator in engendering the country’s poverty reduction strategy, particularly relevant given its implication and networking at both meso and macro levels
