International Advisory Board - Gabriel Silva
Gabriel Silva’s work in the public sector began in 1986 when he became an advisor on International Politics to Colombian President, Virgilio Barco. In 1993, he was named Ambassador of Colombia to the United States where he remained until October 1994. In 1996 he stepped aside from the public sector in order to dedicate himself to several private sector initiatives. He has been a guest lecturer at Oxford University, the Foreign Service Institute, the Brookings Institute and the US National Defense University. He has also published books on Colombian economics, history and politics. In 2002, Mr Silva was appointed CEO of the National Federation of Coffee Growers of Colombia. With the support of the National Government, he has led a series of social projects, which have benefited thousands of low income coffee growing families.
