SNV is present on the ground in 36 countries across five regions:
• Asia
• Balkans
• East and Southern Africa
• Latin America
• West and Central Africa.
We have a head office in The Hague, Netherlands, though the number of staff there is gradually reducing as we put greater emphasis on our work in the five regions.
We also have a partnership office in Washington DC. Staff here work to establish partnerships with other multi-lateral organisations, corporations, foundations, universities, social investors and other bodies, to increase the impact of our work.
Our leadership
A Managing Board, led by the chief executive, manages the SNV organisation under the supervision of an independent Supervisory Board. The Managing Board consists of three managing directors and one chief executive. The three managing directors are responsible for finance and human resources, regional operations and business development. The chief executive focuses primarily on SNV's positioning, and has final responsibility for managing SNV.
The five SNV regions are led by the five regional directors who, together with the Managing Board and the head of strategy, make up the Extended Board. This Board meets three times a year and is the chief executive's most senior advisory body on strategic issues.
In July 2009, we also launched an International Advisory Board to help expand the scale, impact and visibility of our work.
