April 2008. Last January, SNV has called upon senior evaluators and firms, to express their interest to conduct one or more of the ten evaluations scheduled for 2008-2009. These evaluators will have to look at the relevance, effectiveness and efficiency of SNV’s work, at the results obtained and to make recommendations. It was for the first time that SNV publicly announced for a group of external evaluators. SNV will undertake five independent evaluations per year, one in each SNV Region.

The call for evaluators was closed by the end of February. Hundreds of candidates have responded. Early April candidates and firms were informed that they were shortlisted. The next few months of SNV’s organisational learning, gender mainstreaming in West Africa and the country programme of SNV Rwanda will be evaluated. From the group of shortlisted candidates, a selection will be made.
