Connecting people's capacities

Ownership and long-term sustainability of development processes is greatly served by strengthening the contribution of the rising numbers of local capacity builders. That’s why SNV works with public, private as well as NGO actors and helps to build bridges between them – including micro-macro linkages – in order to accelerate impact on poverty and governance. We view our clients as part of broader groupings of interrelated actors that are involved in or linked to a specific area of work.

To achieve real and sustainable impact, SNV advisers make great efforts to articulate feasible targets for each client assignment in terms of the envisioned contribution to generating production, income or employment, or to the accessibility of basic services. A well-defined process of client selection is of particular importance in this regard.
