SNV in Bhutan improves access to, coverage and quality of basic services through the Bhutan Biogas Project. Started in 2011, it aims to build capacity of the public and private sectors to construct and operate 1,600 biogas plants in four districts in the next two years.

SNV has had a presence in Bhutan since 1988, and has been working closely with the Royal Government of Bhutan and other local development actors to bring a social and behavioural change in the following three sectors:
