SNV wins Basketball Tournament 2015

Team SNV emerged the champions in the one day "Partnership for Development" basketball tournament, held on May 23rd, 2015. Team UNDP was the runners-up. Ten teams from various international organisations working in Bhutan participated in the tournament, organised by 2014 champions Save the Children International, Thimphu.

WASH Triggering Workshop

On 7 & 8th March, a CDH workshop was conducted in Jigme Village, Dorokha Drungkhag, Samtse District to facilitate and make the community realise, self-discover, create ownership and eventually take collective actions for improving the sanitation and hygiene status of their community.

Second PES agreement signed in Bhutan

The second Payment for Environmental Services (PES) agreement in Bhutan was signed on 23rd March, 2015 for 5 years between the Burkhey Watershed Community and a group of Industrial houses in Pasakha, Phuntsholing for the supply of drinking water.

A team from climate-smart agriculture project visited Assam and Meghalaya in India from 13-19 June, 2015.The visit was initiated and sponsored by the Climate-smart Agriculture project, SNV Bhutan.

Members of the Umling climate-smart farmer association (value addition group) are now trained to produce ginger pickle, ginger paste & powder, ginger candy and potato chips.
