Female leadership manual launch

In Bhutan, SNV Bhutan joined the country and its partners in celebrating International Women’s Day on 8th March 2014 with the launch of the female leadership training manual titled “Strengthening Female Leadership in Farmers’ Groups and Cooperatives”, Empowering women for better participation and decision making by the Queen Mother, Her Majesty Galyum Sangay Choden Wangchuk in Haa district.

National PES Inception Workshop Held in Thimphu, Bhutan

On February 16th, the Minister of Agriculture and Forests (MoAF), Lyonpo Yeshey Dorji, opened the 3-day National PES Inception Workshop to an audience of over 65 selected stakeholders representing the public, private and non-profit sectors.

Celebrating 25 years in Bhutan!

In this Year of the Water Snake, SNV is celebrating our silver jubilee in Bhutan.  From July in 2013, with our government and local partners and team, we will be looking back together at 25 years of working in partnership.

Bhutan Biogas Project to build 1,600 plants in 2 years

Started in 2011, the SNV supported Bhutan Biogas Project aims to build capacity of the public and private sectors to construct and operate 1,600 biogas plants in four districts in the next two years.

Latest news

A total of 30 participants from 6 CSA pilot Dzongkhags of Bhutan visited Gangtok and various farms and farmers in Sikkim from 8 to 13 Oct 2014. The exposures visit was supported through Local Capacity builder’s fund under CSA project of SNV Bhutan.
October 15 may have been Global Handwashing Day, but every day needs to be a handwashing day if we want to stop preventable disease in its tracks.
With sanitation-related illnesses killing more than 1.5 million children under five every year, handwashing with soap can make a big difference.
After the Rural Sanitation and Hygiene Programme (RSAHP) success in Lhuntse and Pemagatshel districts, the Ministry of Health has decided to roll out the RSAHP programme across Bhutan's remaining 18 districts.
