SNV Burkina has positioned itself in two impact areas:

• Basic Services
• Production Income and Employment

In Basic Services we operate in three intervention zones: Education, Health and Biogas. To make an impact on Production, Income and Employment we intervene in Cotton, Agriculture (Oilseeds), Livestock and Pastoralism. 

Strenghtening local performances

We work on these impact areas through two delivery channels -advisory services and knowledge brokering- which enable the strengthening of local performances at client level. Our positioning is in line with national priorities like, for instance, the national development strategy for accelerated poverty reduction.

How we aim to create an enabling environment for local actors

• Sharing our know-how and expertise with our local actors in order to strenghten the capacity of macro and meso level organisations
• Supporting the emergence of local capacity builders capable of bringing organisational and institutional change
• Integrating values of governance, of gender equity, of social inclusion and  of sustainability in the daily activity of local actors
• Strengthening the leadership skills of our local actors
• Strengthening organisations in their lobbying/advocacy activities
• Working in collaboration and synergy with different strategic technical and financial partners
• Supporting land use commissions in their objective to create a peaceful way of managing natural resources
