On Tuesday the 25th of August, the delegates of the Trade Mission met SNV Congo director and advisors to discuss about Public Private cooperation issues in Congo.
Organised by the Netherlands-African Business Council, this trade mission was held within the context of a project on Public Private Cooperation, partly funded by the Dutch minister for Development Cooperation.
Trade and investments between DRC an the Netherlands are now at a very low level. This mission intended to be a first step for a gradual increase in economical relations between the two countries.
The delegation was led by NABC Managing Director Bob van der Bijl. Ten representatives of Dutch entreprises and organisations spent about an hour in the SNV Congo office. They discussed public-private cooperation issues with SNV country Director Yaouba Kaigama, and with some advisers.
Members of the delegation were particularly interested by SNV's activities to improve the production, income and imployement in the non-timber forest products and the palm oil value chains.
