REGIDESO: Regideso is the Congolese urban and semi-urban water provider. In Mbandaka (capital city of the Equateur Province), Regideso should provide drinking water to the 732,000 people living in the city centre and suburbs;

BUREAU 9 with 3 Health Zones: Bureau 9 is the section of the Provincial Health Division in charge of water, sanitation and hygiene. The Health Zones are decentralised administrative arms of the Health Division, functioning at a local level. (A typical Health Zone in Congo includes a referral hospital, satellite health centres and community action groups). Bureau 9 and UNICEF work hand in hand with the Congo government’s “Sanitised Villages Program”;

EPSP (Enseignement Primaire, Secondaire et Professionnel): EPSP is the state service in charge of primary, secondary and professional education. UNICEF is a partner of EPSP in the Congo government’s “Sanitised Schools Program”;

CRONGD Equateur : Conseil Régional des ONGs de Développement en province de l’Equateur. CRONGD-Equateur is a regional council gathering 86 development NGOs active in the Equateur province. The 86 members of this council all work towards better and more sustainable living conditions for the communities. However many of these NGOs suffer from a lack of training which prevents them from attaining their objectives.

ASJT : Association des Amis de Saint Joseph Travailleur. hmngab@yahoo.fr / joseph_travailleur@yahoo.fr ASJT is a non-profit organisation that provides support and follow-up to farming community associations and organisations. ASJT is the facilitator of the “Analysis and Development of Market Chains” process which was launched within the framework of the SNV – CIFOR – ICRAF – FAO joint project “Mobilisation and capacity building of the NTFP small and medium enterprises in Central Africa”. ASJT is in charge of structuring the mfumbwa and straws value chains in the area located between Mbandaka and Bikoro.
- CODAFE : Coordination pour Développement des Associations Féminines de l’Equateur. CODAFE is a coordination association that provides support to 53 women’s organisations and 30 interest groups in the province of Equateur. CODAFE is also a facilitator of the “Analysis and Development of Market Chains” process (see above). However, CODAFE focuses rather on the mfumbwa, marantachea, caterpillar and rattan value chains. CODAFE is active around the city of Basankusu.
