Building on the development priorities set out in Ethiopia’s poverty reduction programme and consistent with its commitment to strengthen synergies with the programmes of its key partners, SNV Ethiopia is working in two impact areas:

• Access to Basic Services with a focus on water, sanitation and hygiene and renewable energy (biogas)
• Increase in Production, Income and Employment with a focus on four agricultural value chains: milk and milk products, honey and beeswax, oil seeds (sesame, niger, safflower) and horticulture (apple, mango and pineapple); and increasingly also tourism

In both of these impact areas SNV looks at governance issues, including the aspects of gender and social inclusion of less empowered citizen groups.
