In Kenya, approaches to development cooperation have shifted from a project approach to programme based aid, where resources are allocated through sector-wide approaches. Donors complement Government of Kenya contributions to designated basket funds intended to support sector agendas. SNV bridges the divide between such national (macro) level investment and the needs and voices of citizens and local organisations at the local (micro) level. SNV Kenya’s strategy is aligned to Economic Recovery Strategy, the Kenyan Vision 2030 initiative and the Millennium Development Goals and seeks to impact on:
- Delivery of Basic Services (water, sanitation and hygiene, and renewable energy)
- Production, Income and Employment (dairy, extensive livestock and horticulture)
