Access to basic services:  By improving local populations’ access to water, sanitation, education and energy; SNV hopes to raise the living standards of the world’s vulnerable communities. 

Production, employment and income:  Higher income gives people the freedom to choose the life they want to lead.  Greater production allows for food and social security.  Securing employment is not only important for survival, but can also prevent rural–urban migration.
