Rui Mirira, post graduate in Natural Resources Management, with extensive experience in the environment and natural resources management, advocacy & community projects mostly with IUCN. With 8 years of experience in the environmental field, Rui worked and participated in Environmental Impact Assessment Studies; Design of Environmental Management Plans and forest management enforcement strategies; Study of Renewable Energy Problems and a Study on the Consumption of Biomass Energy in Mozambique.
Currently he leads the implementation of improved cooking stoves programme for Maputo urban markets in partnership with FUNAE and GIZ, as well as the development of a sustainable charcoal value chain.
Rui Mirira was teacher of Natural Resources Management and Environmental Impact Assessment disciplines in Pedagogical University, Institute of Gaza and São Tomás University and involved in land use mapping methodology of northern Mozambique.
