Water, Sanitation & Hygiene

Our work in the Water, Sanitation & Hygiene sector centres on improving sustainable water access and improving sanitation for households for both rural and urban and peri-urban populations.

We pay attention to improving social and economic sustainability of the interventions.

SNV, in collaboration with other development partners, developed the Operations and Maintenance Logbook and the Sanitation Catalogue as tools to improve access to both water and sanitation services in Mozambique

SNV works with Vitens-Evides, the Dutch public water company, to implement various programmes for improved water supply in urban and peri-urban areas in northern Mozambique.

SNV also works with UNICEF in upscaling best practices in sustainability of water and sanitation interventions. This is in partnership with the national rural water programme, PRONASAR.
