How do we work?

SNV in Nepal strengthens the capacity of local organisations. This is motivated by our experience that people and organisations need and want to take their development in their own hands, and need to strengthen their own capacities to do so. It is our strategy to stimulate that local ownership and sustainable mechanisms for local capacity development which are being shaped.  In addition, we believe that ownership and long-term sustainability of development processes is greatly served by strengthening the contribution of the rising numbers of local capacity builders (LCBs). As these organisations are becoming increasingly instrumental in spearheading local action, SNV in Nepal will continue to support the growth and development of LCBs throughout all the sectors we work in.
