The evaluation period 2003-2006 was a period of extreme political turbulence in Nepal. However, overall the results achieved during the period 2003 to 2006 have been good. Relevant and effective advice and support was provided to a wide range of clients in all five practice areas. The continuing conflict and political uncertainties limited access to and the delivery of SNV activities. This disruption coincided with a period of transformation of SNV from an implementing agency to one focusing on advisory services. The internal and external turbulence has affected SNV Nepal’s confidence and strategic direction.

The evaluation concludes with ten specific recommendations as next steps in a transformation process towards the new strategy to enhance SNV’s pro-poor impact in Nepal.
