Govinda joined SNV Nepal in February 2005.  Govinda works to strengthen the capacity of organisations across three of SNV’s working sectors; WASH, Renewable Energy and Forest Products.  His overall responsibilities include working for improved service delivery of clients such as the local district offices involved in Water, Sanitation and Hygiene; District Energy and Environment Section for Renewable Energy; and Rara Juice Products and the Rural Community Development Centre (Mugu) in the Forest Products sector.  While providing advisory support, Govinda plays special attention to gender and social inclusion principles, and administers rights based and community participatory approaches.

Prior to joining SNV, Govinda worked as a programme officer for the District Development Committee (DDC) of Dolpa and was responsible for the overall planning, monitoring and evaluating or programme activities.  In addition, Govinda has worked as the local development fund board secretary for DDC Dolpa.  Overall, Govinda possess over eight years of professional experience with government, non-government, and private sector organisations in the areas of WASH, renewable energy, forestry, tourism, and enterprise development.

Govinda received his MA degree in Sociology and previously obtained a Masters degree in Education – majoring in English.
