Tea Sector Service Centre (TEASEC)

TEASEC is a local capacity builder which provides services to local farmers and processors operating in the tea sector. SNV has been building the capacity of TEASEC for the effective implementation of the Codes of Conduct (CoC). Currently we are enhancing our support by conducting the orientation of the CoC marketing plan to social mobilisers of TEASEC.

 

Himalayan Orthodox Tea Production Association (HOTPA)

SNV has been working closely in building consensus among HOTPA members to firstly sign the CoC and then oversee the effective implementation of the CoC at the tea processing units by providing training to HOTPA human resources.  Additionally, SNV is providing advisory services in the overall strategic planning of HOTPA.

 

District Tea Farmer Federations (Panchthar, Dhankuta and Terathum) and District Tea Cooperative

Federation Limited, Ilam

SNV works together with farmer associations in increasing their knowledge on CoC benefits.  We strengthen their capacity for the smooth implementation of CoC amongst cooperatives by administering effective coordination among district level stakeholders.  In addition to CoC implementation, SNV assists tea farmers implement sustainable plans and programmes in a bid to increase their production and income from cash crops production.

 

District Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI), Panchthar, Ilam, Sankhuwasabha and Taplejung

SNV also works with local government agencies such as the DCCI in improving their marketing skills, couching on quality improvement and facilitating market linkages.  SNV trains DCCI members in developing effective business plans and training executive members in effective governance and enhancing team building skills.

 

Alternative Energy Development Centre (AEDC)

SNV is working with AEDC in action research on improved rocket drying technology (reducing fuel wood consumption) of cardamom.
