Livestock and Pastoralism

SNV Niger aims at contributing to secured access to natural resources, increased incomes, and improved living conditions/quality of life for pastoralist and agro-pastoralist communities.

We want to achieve this by improving the pastoralists’ associations performance in terms of service provision, lobbying and advocacy and marketing of livestock products on the one hand, and sound management of natural resources at national, regional, departmental and communal level on the other.

SNV Niger can achieve the outcomes and contribute to the impacts highlighted above by:

  • advisory services to land use commissions (COFO), municipalities and pastoralists’ associations
  • training
  • fostering linkages between actors (including partners)
  • knowledge development and brokering
  • facilitating market access
  • fostering linkages between value chain actors
  • resource mobilisation.
