SNV in collaboration with CONCERN International and WaterAid put a joint exhibition on Water Point Mapping during Water Week from 16th -22nd March, 2009 Bukoba Municipality, Tanzania.
A client of SNV, Kagera NGO Network (KANGONET) who are in the forefront of the Access to Information project was also based at the SNV stand. The three organisations displayed water point maps, a documentary on management of water schemes and a drama group which was one of the key attractions during the fair.
During the fair, both the Minister of Water and Irrigation Professor Mark Mwandosya and his deputy Engineer Christopher Chiza visited the stand. They expressed their appreciation of the water point mapping exercise and indicated that the Ministry will cater for it in the 2009/10 budget for the remaining districts.
The guest of honour of the Water Week, Dr. Ali Mohamed Shein, the Vice President toured selected stands including that of SNV, WaterAid and Concern.
