Through an Research-Internship Programme, SNV collaborates with Northern and Southern academic institutions to bridge the gap between practice and theory in development practice. In 2007, for instance, 21 interns from the University of Utrecht, The Netherlands, carried out research and learned about capacity development approaches under the guidance of SNV teams all over the world. The 2008 batch of interns have just left for various countries in Asia, Africa and the Balkans. Highlights of the research topics and findings will be available in September when all interns have returned and completed their theses.
