LCDF stands for Local Capacity Development Facility. The LCDF concept was initiated by SNV, and now helps rural businesses, local governments, and non-profit organisations to improve their capacities to prosper and scale-up their own solutions and innovations.

LCDF is Local. SNV supports national rural organisations in the creation of independent, locally driven and managed LCDF initiatives.

LCDF is involved in Capacity Development. We believe in enabling rural businesses, non-profit organisations, and local governments (local actors) to build their skills and better serve their markets or clients.

LCDF achieves this by Facilitating connections between local actors and service providers. This improves market interaction, quality of services, and service pricing. Financial support of local actors allows them to build their skills and knowledge or grow their business. We engage local actors through our market platforms and support them through our fund.
