Enhancing the inclusion of small scale producers and entrepreneurs in regional or global value chains is a strategy to increase production, income and employment opportunities for the poor.
As SNV we focus on entire value chains: from production of crops (training about irrigation, fertilisation, etc.) to market access (advice on storage, transport, marketing) as well as access to (micro)credits.
All regions where we work have made specific selections of value chains. Roughly these choices fall within three broad domains: agriculture, tourism, timber and forestry products.
