SNV has access to a multicultural team of highly qualified professionals, who value respect and trust, equity and quality, diversity, and people-centeredness.

We are convinced that the success of our advisory work depends on the combination of local knowledge and international expertise. 80% of our advisors are citizens from the Balkans, as the ownership of development initiatives that SNV supports stays with local people and institutions. Out of 64 advisors currently working for SNV, 31% are senior advisors (with more than ten years of experience in their own field) and 62% are medior advisors (5-8 years of experience). Half of our advisors are females.

We believe achieving impact requires a combination of process facilitation and institutional strengthening skills, governance and decentralisation expertise, and content expertise relevant to selected sectors. Therefore, our staff is comprised of approximately 50% sector-related content expertise (forestry, tourism, water, agriculture), and 50% cross-cutting expertise (local governance, gender, EU integration, leadership, public finance, financial management, private sector development) that is applied in the relevant sectors.
