A wide range of different partners

In order to maximise the impact of its advisory work in the Western Balkans, SNV Balkans seeks to work in close cooperation with a wide range of different types of partners.

For SNV Balkans, “partners” is an umbrella term that captures several different types of collaborating agencies, including clients (organisations who pay SNV to do something), beneficiaries (organisations that benefit from SNV’s advice), and co-implementors (organisations that advise jointly).

Our primary funder and global strategic partner is the Ministry of Development Cooperation (DGIS) of the Kingdom of The Netherlands, and thus we maintain a close working with the Embassies of the Kingdom of The Netherlands (EKNs) throughout the Western Balkans.

We also seek to work with partnerships at different levels of geographical reach: SNV Balkans naturally seeks to leverage global Corporate Partnerships (UNWTO, AgriProFocus, UNDP, FLO, WBCSD, etc…) for greater local impact. SNV Balkans has Regional Partnerships, such as the one undertaken through the Dinaric Arc Initiative (DAI) for conservation and sustainable development in the Western Balkans (UNEP, FAO, Council of Europe, UNESCO, Euronatur, WWF, etc…, are also involved). Last but not least, are our Local Partnerships, be the formalized or ad hoc, to strengthen the know-how of Local Capacity Builders (LCBs).

SNV Balkans is open to partnerships with organisations from both the public and the private sector, as well as non-governmental organisations. Because of our expertise in EU standardization and rural economic development, particularly in the fields of agriculture, forestry, governance and sustainable tourism, SNV Balkans is ideally positioned to act as an implementing sub-contractor to consultancies bidding for EU tenders.
