Values and dynamics

“The meekness and humility, the values and dynamics of Tallberg stirred me deeply and profoundly, the value and dignity of human life. If only we could change the social arrangements that perpetuate poverty and that words could win over weapons. Ending the ecocataclysm and effects of climate change that humans have brought to bear on our globe. We really have a shared responsibility of taking care of the world not only for the sake of ourselves but also for the next generation.

My understanding of the global challenge and issues confronting us in water demand, availability and food production was raised and reinforced considerably by Prof. Malin Falkenmark’s presentation.

This shapeless, formless and colorless but crucial life giving resource is increasingly becoming a source of conflict between people in many regions of our planet. Free market democracies, respectful of traditional moral values under guarded by education and teaching people that life is worth living would enable us develop the harmonies we are striving to attain to help us live together peacefully with nature, protecting the environment, embracing globalization and secure from terror.”

I share and view clearly the ideals, vision and sentiments envisioned by the founders of Tallberg which as Yergenia M. Albats from Russia appropriately described “as a gathering of pure attruists and idealists combined with a bunch of pure pragmatists, and where both entities benefit from interaction with one another”. For me the Tallberg interaction was a life changing experience. I have been tremendously inspired by the people, the events and in the way the forums programme was conducted. May the work and spirit of Tallberg take root and flower worldwide!

We are extremely grateful to the SNV team for facilitating and enabling our participation at Tallberg. Your mission of connecting people’s capacities is in tandem and merges so well with the ideals of Tallberg."
