SNV seeks to substantially diversify its partnerships and resources to leverage its expertise for increased impact. SNV partners are a mixture of governments, NGOs and the private sector. We engage local capacity builders as partners when we share a broader objective, for example, in developing certain approaches or products or when there is a shared desire to achieve impact and improved governance in a basic services sector or theme. Partners can be divided into the following categories:
1. International development agencies (UNDP, ECDPM, GTZ, DED, DifD, etc.)
2. International donors (ready to finance specific activities/projects)
3. Local development organisations (
4. Government agencies (ministries, technical services)
5. Research institutions (ACE-RECIT, Universities)
6. Local Capacity Builders (e.g. Centre DIRO, Centre Djoliba)
A special partner, ‘hors catégorie’ is the Embassy of the Kingdom of The Netherlands (EKN). All activities of SNV are being tuned with the efforts of EKN in the countries involved.
