Allert van den Ham, Chief Executive Officer
Allert van den Ham (b. 1955) joined SNV in 2010 as Regional Director for Asia and was appointed as CEO of the organisation in 2011. Before joining SNV, Allert held different positions with the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, consultancy firms and the Dutch co-financing agency Oxfam–Novib. From 2003-2007 Allert was member of the board of Directors of the Humanist Institute for Development Cooperation (Hivos) in the Netherlands. Within Hivos he was responsible for strategy, programmes & projects, knowledge initiatives and international resource mobilisation. He has been founder/board member and advisor of several Dutch institutions and most recently the chair of the supervisory board of the Triodos Sustainable Trade Fund. His education includes an MSc in Human Geography and a PhD in Social Sciences from Wageningen University.
Michel Farkas, Managing Director for Finance & HRM
Michel Farkas joined the Managing Board of SNV in May 2011. Before taking on the position of MD Finance & HRM, Michel gained extensive (change) management experience both in the corporate sector and international humanitarian aid sectors. Most recently he has worked at Medecins sans Frontieres (Doctors without Borders) in the Netherlands, first as its Head of HRM and later as its Director of Resources. Michel studied at the University of Utrecht and holds degrees in Political History and Constitutional and Administrative Law.
Andy Wehkamp, Managing Director for Renewable Energy
Andy Wehkamp was appopinted to the SNV Managing Board in April 2013. Starting her career with SNV in 1996, Andy has held a range of positions within the organisation, including Regional Director for West & Central Africa (2011-2012) and Asia (2005-2010), and Country Director for Uganda, Peru and Vietnam. Before joining SNV, Andy held different managerial and policy positions with Oxfam-Novib in the Netherlands and in Central America, and with the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs. She has a Cum Laude MSc degree in social anthropology from the University of Amsterdam.
Megan Ritchie, Managing Director for Water, Sanitation & Hygiene

As Managing Director for Water, Sanitation & Hygiene, Megan Ritchie leads SNV's initiatives in the WASH sector globally. Prior to her appointment as Managing Director, Megan served as Country Director for SNV in Lao PDR, where she led SNV's WASH activies across Asia. In her nine years with SNV, Megan has also been Country Director of SNV Bhutan and manager of the UNWTO ST-EP (Sustainable Tourism Alleviating Poverty) programme. Before joining SNV, Megan was a senior lecturer at La Trobe University, Australia. She holds a degree in Business Management and a Masters in policy/planning. Megan has a passion for facilitating empowerment and a special interest in rural and remote communities.
