SNV's relationships with clients around the world are central to our work. We collaborate with institutional donors through grants, fees for services and partnerships. We also undertake assignments and receive support for our programmes from trusts, foundations and companies.
Over 50 different clients currently invest in SNV's quality programmes and services globally. We work together with these clients to promote sustainable development and alleviate poverty in the countries where we operate.
Examples of the work we carry out in collaboration with our clients in Asia
include our Sustainable Sanitation and Hygiene for All programme in Bhutan, Nepal, Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam, which is currently receiving financial support from both the Australian Agency for International Development (AusAID) and the UK Department for International Development (DFID). Other clients for our work in Asia include the German Ministry for Environment Affairs (BMU), who supports our Renewable Energy and REDD+ programmes in Vietnam.
In Sub-Saharan Africa
, our ambitious Home Grown School Feeding Programme receives financial support from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, enabling us to facilitate access for smallholder farmers to procurement for school feeding programmes across 50 districts in Kenya, Ghana and Mali. We also work with DANIDA in Sub-Saharan Africa, as well as the European Commission and USAID, who supports our work to reduce food insecurity amongst vulnerable rural populations in Burkina Faso.
Other highlights in Africa over the past year include our country-level engagements with UNICEF, which has seen our engagement with them extend to Ethiopia, South Sudan and Uganda, through close collaboration on our School Water, Sanitation & Hygiene (WASH) programme in Uganda, our Community Led Total Sanitation (CLTS) initiatives in Ethiopia, and our WASH programme in South Sudan.
In Latin America, IDB supports The Nicaragua Biogas Market Development Program, which is being developed by SNV in collaboration with HIVOS and NORAD. In Bolivia, SNV is receiving support from the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA) to strengthen the water and sanitation capacities of the national and governmental institutions.
