     SPEAK UP ON POVERTY YOUTH CONTEST

If you are between 11-18 years old, we want to hear your ideas about the best way to overcome poverty.

This is your chance to have your voice heard by world leaders - and to win inspiring prizes including:

                      STEP 1: Be inspired

Click on the greeting card above to read inspirational messages from renowned global leaders, celebrities, and philanthropists. 

                       STEP 2: Think big

After you read the inspirational words in our New Year’s card, think about global poverty and what it will take to build a better future. This card contains messages from President Clinton; His Holiness the Dalai Lama, Israeli President Shimon Peres, former Secretary of Homeland Security Tom Ridge, Chief Muslim Imam of India Umer Ahmed Ilyasi; Grammy-award winning singer and song writer Angelique Kidjo, and American actress, singer and activist Rosario Dawson and other global leaders.

Answer the following question:

Done? Now write down your idea in 100- 400 words.

                        STEP 3: Speak up

Now through December 2013, please submit your idea (in 100-400 words) to youth@snvworld.org, along with the following information:

your name, your parent or legal guardian's full name, your age, country of residence, name of school you attend, contact information- including phone number and/or email as well as that of your parent/legal guardian.

(And don't forget to tell us how you heard of this contest!)

                   STEP 4: Get recognized

A panel of judges will review all submissions and select the best entries based on a set of criteria that include innovation, clarity of thought, originality, and compassion.

Selected winners will have their ideas published here and be contacted to receive prizes.
